How To Listen

Listeners can access the Talking Information Center in a variety of ways:

Special Receiver

TIC provides special receivers to visually-impaired and print-disabled people. These receivers are small radios that are tuned only to the Talking Information Center. To obtain a receiver, call the TIC offices at 1-800-696-9505.

Because TIC is a nonprofit organization, we ask each listener for a one-time $50 fee in order to cover the cost of the receivers we mail out. No one who is eligible is turned down from our service. If you truly cannot afford the cost of a receiver, you may pay a portion of the cost, or we can find a sponsor for you.

If you have a receiver that is not working properly, please let us know. Typically, we can repair your receiver or give you a new one.

If you have found one of our receivers, or are no longer using yours, please call us at 800-696-9505. The return of these receivers allows us to give them out to other people who need them.

AM/FM radio stations

TIC can be heard on the following radio stations:

  • WVBF 1530 AM Middleboro
  • WRRS 104.3 LP-FM Pittsfield

Depending on individual schedules and broadcast restrictions, TIC is not necessarily available 24 hours a day on each station.
